Bumble Bees, Hawk Moth and Fly Jewellery
Bumble bees, hawk moths and flies have been in our jewellery collection from the beginning.
I was always drawn to the bugs first, for me it was all about using dead fragile forms of insects to create a piece of jewellery that could be worn for a lifetime.
I was drawn to the idea of dead insects becoming precious, and fascinated by how people didn't mind looking at the wing structures of flies once they were in solid gold or silver but weren't so keen on holding the natural dead body.
On our bench is the Bumble Bee, the finest details retained from the original natural form, under the wing is a link through which the chain passes.
This bee pendant is the perfect piece for your Spring / Summer wardrobe.
Did you know our Hawk Moth ring was worn by Sansa Stark in the hit medieval TV series Game of Thrones?
One of the most exciting places we've seen our jewellery, such an honour for it to be picked and used on such an incredible show.
Our Hawk Moth also comes as a necklace, we make a collar length, and a long moth on a 29" chain.
The most fragile wings now in solid gold.
The Egyptians saw flies very differently, to how many of us view them today.
Flies persistent nature was seen as a positive trait, making them fitting symbols to be made in gold.
The gold flies were given as military awards to soldiers who demonstrated exceptional courage and persistence in battle.
I've always loved making fly jewellery, they are and will always be a favourite.
